About Skeye

Skeye is an AI-powered geospatial analytics platform that enables stakeholders in agricultural and environmental monitoring to accurately identify objects, land use, and activity from satellite imagery.

By tracking change over time and comparing current imagery with historical records, Skeye helps businesses and organisations make informed decisions, optimise operations, and gain a competitive edge.

Smart Studios

Skeye is a product of Smart Studios.

Smart Studios is a digital solutions provider based in Malta. Founded in 2018, the company focuses on building AI & software solutions. Its founder and CEO Johan Zammit and the rest of the C-suite bring along 25 years of hands-on business experience coupled with deep technical and scientific knowledge.

Our Mission

Skeye exists to help organisations unlock the value of satellite imagery through AI-powered geospatial intelligence. Our mission is to build the world’s best platform for practical results. One that turns complex spatial data into actionable insights for agriculture, infrastructure, construction, port operations and public sector use cases.

With over 25 years of experience in digital innovation and analytics, our team combines strategic thinking, technical expertise and deep geospatial understanding to build an earth observation platform that solves real-world challenges. Our goal is simple: to enable better decisions, stronger performance, and lasting impact for the organisations and communities we serve.

Our Story

Our story began in 1992 when our founder and CEO Johan Zammit wrote his first line of code and fell in love with coding.

In 1996 when he started University two subjects fascinated him more than others : Geographic Information System (GIS) and AI.

Fast forward to 2017, where after 20 years pushing the envelope in technology and innovation, Johan felt it was time to share his experience through a new type of organisation. Smart Studios was born to enable its clients to use AI and digital innovation to their advantage. And this is where the love for GIS and satellite imagery came back.

Since 2019 we have been working day and night on AI for earth observation, and this triggered the start of Skeye, a natural extension of our journey, bringing satellite imagery, geospatial analytics, and AI-powered insights together in one unified platform.
